Model characteristics
The Nude-G model is an il2rg knock-out BALB/c nude mouse with T cell and NK cell depletion phenotype. The model was created using genome scissors (CRISPR/Cas9) in December 2019. When cancer cell lines are transplanted into mice for tumor implantation experiments, there are cases where tumors do not form well. However, the newly developed Nude-G mouse showed successful tumor formation even when using cell lines that typically have difficulty forming tumors. This characteristic is considered advantageous for tumor experiments.

Advantages
The immunodeficient phenotype enhances tumor cell acceptance, making this model suitable for subcutaneous xenograft and PDX (patient-derived xenograft) studies. Additionally, due to the absence of hair, this mouse is compatible with in vivo live imaging systems, as it reduces interference in bioluminescence and fluorescence imaging.

Tumor xenograft model
- Transplantation of 5x10^6 cells in the femoral s.c.
- Tumors proliferated faster in Nude-G (Il2rg KO) mice compared to NSG mice.
